All Together
I’ve always been fascinated by creatures of other worlds. Whether they be symbolic mythical goddesses, creatures from the depths of the sea, or beings that reside on some other planet. I know I’m not alone in my intrigue. The mystery of other-than-human life forms has an allure in all cultures. My work explores the mysticism that attracts us all to the unknown, that can give us hope, frighten us or inspire us. With my new work I’ve let go of the boundaries of the flat canvas and the conformities of the rectangle. My materials have remained the same—wood, canvas, and paint—but I am now creating three dimentional forms. I feel this allows me to give life into something that otherwise would be inanimate. My three-dimensional pieces hold a wisdom that I myself am still learning from.
